The Accessible Mind was birthed from a desire to make Mindfulness and Restorative Practices accessible to folks who may never enter a yoga studio or sit in stillness. Many times folks hear these terms and quickly think it isn't for them. I believe it can be for every and any one, which has led us here.
The Accessible Mind Founder
Shanaya Gordon
Shanaya has always had a passion for mental health. Advocating for parts of the human condition that can sometimes cause shame, has always been the corner stone of her purpose. This path of serving directly reflects the healing once can have from restorative & mindfulness practices.
Shanaya was exposed to meditation in 2017, and yoga shortly after. She quickly noticed the benefits on her mental and physical health.
In 2023, Shanaya realized how much joy and fulfillment sharing restorative practices gave her. While still pursuing knowledge and experience, she currently has the following training and certifications:
- MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction)
- Mindfulness Meditation Instructor
- 200hr Yoga Teacher Training
- 20hr Yin & Restorative Training
- 30hr Restorative Training
- 50hr Accessible Yoga Training
